High-extinction-ratio resonant cavity polarizer for quantum-optics measurements.
The use of a high-finesse Fabry-Perot ring cavity with an odd number of reflections as a high-extinction-ratio resonant polarizer is shown. Experimental results from quantum-noise measurements using resonant cavities as spatial and spectral filters and precision polarizers are presented.
متن کاملWide-angle near infrared polarizer with extremely high extinction ratio.
An infrared polarizer is designed with a predicted extremely high extinction ratio exceeding 3 × 10(16) and transmittance higher than 89% for one polarization in the wavelength region from 1.6 to 2.3 µm. Moreover, the performance does not start to deteriorate until 60° tilting angle. The wide-angle high transmission is attributed to the excitation of magnetic polaritons and suitable LC circuit ...
متن کاملHigh-extinction ratio integrated photonic filters for silicon quantum photonics.
We present the generation of quantum-correlated photon pairs and subsequent pump rejection across two silicon-on-insulator photonic integrated circuits. Incoherently cascaded lattice filters are used to provide over 100 dB pass-band to stop-band contrast with no additional external filtering. Photon pairs generated in a microring resonator are successfully separated from the input pump, confirm...
متن کاملResonant Cavity Quantum Dot LEDs
Quantum dot LEDs (QD-LEDs), which capitalize on the excellent color saturation and high photoluminescence efficiencies offered by quantum dots, promise to be part of future generations of display technologies [1]. The goal of our project is to integrate the already developed technology of the QD-LED into a resonant cavity (RC) and thereby achieve enhanced, directed electroluminescence (EL) that...
متن کاملFlexible terahertz wire grid polarizer with high extinction ratio and low loss.
An aluminum-based terahertz (THz) wire grid polarizer is theoretically investigated and experimentally demonstrated on a subwavelength thin flexible and conformal foil of the cyclo-olefin Zeonor polymer. THz time-domain spectroscopy characterization, performed on both flat and curved configurations, reveals a high extinction ratio between 40 and 45 dB in the 0.3-1 THz range and in excess of 30 ...
